Join the Apra Georgia Board

Serving on the Apra GA Board of Directors is an excellent opportunity to give back to the prospect development community and guide the continued development of our professional association. For the term beginning in January 2026, the following board positions are open: President, Treasurer, Secretary, Communications Director, Membership Director, and Social Media Director. Individuals can nominate themselves or nominate someone else for a board position.


Board Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve a two-year term, beginning January 1st, 2026 and ending December 31st, 2027.
  • Attend board meetings (held virtually for one hour every month)
  • Serve in a particular board role, either as an officer (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer) or as a chair or co-chair for one of our key areas: Communications, Membership, or Programming
  • Make a commitment to participate actively in Apra-GA activities, including regularly scheduled workshops and conferences
  • Represent the membership during discussions and decisions

To apply or submit a nomination, please fill out the nomination form by November 7th, 2025. Elections will open in November and all Apra-GA members will be able to vote via electronic ballot.

Board Officer Descriptions

President 

  • Must maintain a current membership to APRA International throughout board service.
  • Chairs all meetings; acts as a spokesperson of the membership at large; sets the agenda for the board meetings; is responsible for the enforcement of the Bylaws. 
  • Assist the Program Director with the scheduling of speakers and guests for all educational events. 
  • Develop the curriculum for the annual Conference(s).

Vice President 

  • Must maintain a current membership to APRA International throughout board service.
  • Creates and receives the nominations for office; set and emails ballots to membership.
  • Administrator of the Bylaws for compliancy.
  • Support website maintenance and updates.

Secretary

  • Must maintain a current membership to APRA International throughout board service.
  • Takes minutes at all meetings and distributes to board members no later than fifteen (15) days after all Chapters Board Meetings and Business Meetings
  • Record and distribute Board Meetings roll and minutes, maintain accessible and accurate records for Board Officers, ensure key contact information and photos for Board Members and volunteers or advisors. 
  • Track Board Member terms, update and prepare Bylaws when amended, prepare conference/s packets, conduct Board related polls and tabulate results, assist President as needs arise, prepare yearly re-cap of Chapters Board Meetings, retreats, projects, activities, etc.
  • Gather packet of Apra International and Apra Georgia materials for New Board Members and volunteers or advisor(s).

Treasurer

  • Must maintain a current membership to APRA International throughout board service.
  • Manages the financial account for Apra Georgia; oversees the receipt of all membership dues and other payments; disburses funds at the direction of the President and/or the board of directors; oversees and reviews budgets and financial statements at the close of the fiscal year and at such other times as the board of directors may require.
  • Provide a quarterly financial report to board members during the monthly board meeting.


Board Director Descriptions

Membership Director 

  • Responsible for the annual membership drive; maintains the current chapter membership roster and email list; updates and manages lapsed and former member records, produces, and distributes membership directory; provides membership information to the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Communications Director. 
  • Provides required membership information to Apra International.
  • Provides a quarterly financial report to board members during the monthly board meeting. 

Program Director 

  • Responsible for most aspects of planning, implementing, and evaluating the annual Apra Georgia Conference(s). This includes procuring speakers, locations, and content for chapter events (including the annual conference), as well as facilitating the logistics for each event. 
  • Interface with members and board members  to coordinate distance programming and develop programming. 
  • Add volunteers or a subcommittee when needed.

Communications Director 

  • Responsible for coordinating and maintaining chapter information and news, conference, program, and educational announcements for inclusion on the chapter website. 
  • Maintains employment opportunities and upcoming events, creates emails for announcements and surveys to poll attendees immediately after educational events. 
  • Tabulates survey responses and shares these findings with the Board.
  • Updates the Wild Apricot website as needed. 

Director of Technology and Social Media

  • Maintains and posts content on LinkedIn and other social media sites. 
  • Assists with the online conferences and webinars and manages cloud recordings of educational programming and events. 
  • Serves as a backup to the Communications Director for creating, sending, and tabulating educational event surveys.
