About
Lorrie Buchanan, a lifelong prospect researcher, was an active member of both Apra-Georgia and Apra International for over 20 years. She began her career in development in 1988 at the University of New Hampshire, where she helped to found one of the nation’s first ever prospect research departments. She later joined the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1993, where she served as Director of Development Research and later as Associate Vice President for Development Operations. The Lorrie Buchanan Professional Scholarship, a memorial scholarship, established by Apra-Georgia to honor Lorrie’s significant impact in the field of prospect research and development.
Award
Lorrie Buchanan Professional Development Scholarship is merit based but also considers financial need (e.g. working for an organization with a limited or no training budget).
Amount
A stipend of up to $300 for professional development activities offered by Apra-Georgia or Apra International.
Two scholarships will be awarded annually.
